This new construction home was designed by award-winning architect John Cooney of Stofft-Cooney Architects to be a sophisticated retreat for family and friends to gather. The two-story, contemporary coastal style home has five bedrooms, five-and-a-half-baths, an office, and a three-car garage – for a total of 6,029 square feet. Escape Winter

If sun, sand and sea is your idea of a pleasant winter getaway, add the Canary Islands to your holiday wish list.

Average winter temperatures in the Canaries hover around 18°C (64°F) all season. Packing for this winter escape means keeping your bulky winter coats at home and packing for spring like weather. There are seven main islands, a handful of smaller islands and islets in the Canary Island chain each worth visting. Sadly, we can’t stay all winter – so let’s explore the contrasting islands of Tenerife and La Palma.

Tenerife, Canary Islands

Tenerife is the largest of the islands and has something everyone; mountains, colonial villages, nightlife and beaches. Mount Teide is Spain’s highest mountain (12,200 feet/ 3,718 meters) and the third largest volcano in the world. A drive from the sunny beaches of the south coast through alpine scenery eventually leads to an other world landscape near the summit of the volcano. The best way to reach the highest point is by cable car, once at the top you can take in the amazing views of Tenerife and the Islands of Grand Canaria, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro. Mount Teide National Park is also home to one of the most amazing star gazing opportunities- book a tour of the observatory or indulge in a sunset and stargazing tour.

Located in the northern region of the island is the charming town of La Orotava. Lonely Planet calls it “one of the loveliest towns on Tenerife, and one of the most truly ‘Canarian’ places in the Canary Islands”. Colonial homes, dating from as early as the 16th century, line cobblestone streets. The La Orotava valley is dotted with vineyards and banana plantations and home of the unspoiled and secluded black sand beach of Playa el Bollullo.

Dramatically different from its northern neighbor are the golden sands of Playa de las Américas. This southern coastal resort is bursting with nightlife, shopping and restaurants and is best known for its reputation for all night long merry making. However, the calm waters of the beach and nearby activities; including boat excursions, Siam Park (water park) and Monkey Park (zoo), also attract families to the region. La Palma, Canary Islands

Book a 30 minute flight from Tenerife (there are several each day) or take a ferry (about 3 hours) to the island of La Palma. La Isla Bonita “the beautiful island” is far removed from the sprawling resorts and heady night life of Tenerife. The capital city of Santa Cruz has retained its old world charm, a pastel rainbow of colonial styled homes overlook the coastline and historic churches occupy the cobblestone streets. This beautiful port, founded in1493 was an important stop between the American colonies and Europe, making it a fabulous place for rich historical and cultural experiences.

The beauty of nature is the main attraction of La Palma with its infinite array of hiking and walking trails criss-crossing the island. The paths are well marked however, a visit to this website shows the distance, difficulty level and duration of the foot paths. Enjoy a leisurely stroll through tranquil laurel woods, walk the pine forests and hike volcanic rock formations, don’t be too surprised when you happen upon a magnificent view or waterfall. If you are looking for more adventurous activities make arrangements to go mountain biking, paragliding or rock climbing.

La Palma isn’t well known for its beaches, making it easy to find peaceful solitude on the black sand of the clear blue waters of the Atlantic. Spending the afternoon at the beach sounds like a perfect way to wind down and relax after a morning hike. Start here to plan your island getaway to sunny La Palma.

Naples Real Estate Market Update – November-2016

Since the election is behind us, our trusted Economists predict a very robust selling season for 2017. We expect that 2016 will end up with about 15% fewer closed transactions than we saw in 2015. We expect this to improve in 2017.

Inventory of homes for sale of both new and existing homes continues to increase and this is a good sign for buyers. There are many good choices in every price range. The reports show that we currently have 6 months of inventory to sell. The under $300,000 price category continues to see more and more condominiums and fewer single family homes, and there are some great buying opportunities in condominiums under $300,000.

Year over year, the median sales price has increased 6%, most of the increase was noticed in the segment of the market under $300,000. Over $300,000 price range increase was much less, around 2%.

Serena Vista

We are pleased announce the completion of this stunning new home in Olde Naples.

Our vision started with the extraordinary opportunity for our investor to acquire a residential lot on a tranquil lake in the heart of Olde Naples. The lake and its beautiful view would soon become a backdrop for this home and ultimately inspire the name, Serena Vista.

The two-story, contemporary coastal styled home, is well positioned on the corner home site to take full advantage of the lake and is surrounded by mature trees and tropical plants. The home blends seamlessly with the landscape, creating a peaceful ambiance while enjoying the view outdoors, and from inside the home.

The five-bedroom plus office, five-and-a-half-bath home has 4,867 square feet under air and 6,029 total square feet, including a three-car garage. Upon entering the home, the foyer’s details set the tone for the rest of the home where visual interest is woven throughout.

The foyer is accented by a deep, intricate detailed ceiling that frames a custom Venetian Murano chandelier created by glass artisans Barovier & Toso. Complementing its architectural beauty, the foyer has French oak cane wood flooring and includes a collection of watercolor botanical prints, imported from an antique & art emporium in Rome.

Beyond the foyer is a great room featuring walls of sliding glass that lead out to the pool and lake, expanding the living area. The coffered ceiling includes custom geometrical details, highlighted by wainscot paneling. The great room also features many unique, hand-selected and imported, European furnishings and accent pieces.

The gourmet kitchen was designed by Ruffino Cabinetry. The expansive island is a focal point featuring custom gray cabinetry topped with natural Cristallo Extra quartz. The Galley® workstation is inset into the island and illuminated with two large forged pendants. The perimeter of the kitchen makes a statement with a natural stone herringbone patterned backsplash, vintage drawings of antique cutlery from Rome, while the white cabinetry offers plenty of storage and prep space. Glass cabinet doors and shelving contribute to the open and fresh feeling, while the Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances, along with an oversized walk-in pantry, complete this workspace.

The adjacent dining room has a natural wood grained table and seating for eight. A glass enclosed wine cellar, with storage for 448 bottles, separates the great room from the dining room. Walls of sliding glass open to the covered outdoor living area with views of the lake.

The home office features a large window providing plenty of natural light, a view of the lake, and a dark-stained, wood beam ceiling with a leather finish wall covering.

A private vestibule leads to the master bedroom featuring his-and-her walk-in closets. A vaulted ceiling, lined with a textured wall covering and a contemporary chandelier, gives the room a relaxed elegant feel. A pair of matching sconces frame the reading nook that offers a view of the lake. The master suite also has a private entrance to the pool and outdoor living area.

The master bath features his and her vanities with Pompeii quartz counter tops and a classic lacquered dressing table. A freestanding soaking tub floats in the center of the room between his and hers glass enclosed showers. A custom geometric marble mosaic floor, Calcutta ceramic tile, and textured wall coverings provide the finishing touches for the retreat.

The first floor of the home also includes a breathtaking private guest retreat with a view of the lake and its own bath.

The second floor, accessible from the staircase or elevator, opens into a 22-by-18-foot loft with walls of sliding glass that lead to a balcony overlooking the pool and lake below.

The second floor has three guest suites, each showcasing their own personalities with its own private bath and walk-in closet. The largest of the guest suites has a view of the lake and pool from its own balcony. A launderette is also on the second floor.

The outdoor living area overlooks the lake and features a heated, infinity-edge pool, spa, custom designed lakeside dock and covered entertainment area complete with fire pit and kitchen. The outdoor kitchen includes an EVO grill, sink and refrigerator.

Thanks to our team of professionals; BCB Homes, Stofft-Cooney Architects, AR Arquitetura Design and the City of Naples permitting us to improve the lake, Serena Vista has exceeded our expectations!

The Bimini

This custom home is located at 400 Gulf Shore Drive in Olde Naples.  The two-story Old Florida style home was designed by John Cooney of Stofft Cooney Architects, built by BCB Homes and features an interior by Ficarra Design Associates.   The home is approximately 4,528 square feet under air and is situated on a small 100 X 110 lot just steps from the Gulf of Mexico beach.

The exterior of the residence includes a steep flat tile roof, solid wood corbels and expansive porches. The open floor plan’s high ceilings are designed to draw tropical breezes through the home, while vertically proportioned windows and doors allow natural light to penetrate the spaces. Intricate floating beam ceiling details are included in several spaces, most notably in the great room, and used to conceal the HVAC system’s registers and returns. The contemporary ceiling detail in the great room includes a painted drywall beam flanked by two smaller beams. The ceiling inserts are painted in a contrasting color to bring in the blues & greys found in the room’s fabrics.

A study, four bedrooms, four full baths and a powder room compliment the home’s main living areas.

Lush landscaping and a tropical-themed pool area with water features, a spa and fire bowls create a romantic environment, ideal for entertaining.

“This residence is ideal for those who enjoy both the beach and the dining and entertainment venues on Fifth Avenue South and Historic Third Street South,” said BCB Homes COO Scott Weidle. “There is a view of the beach from the second floor. Despite the site’s modest size, John Cooney has designed a spacious, comfortable home with an Old Florida architectural style. We feel Ficarra’s interior design will be very well received. It has a coastal contemporary feeling with an edge that today’s buyers find appealing.

Update: This stunning home sold after only 10 days on the market, for its asking price of $6,295,000/turnkey furnished. The price per foot was a whopping $1,390 which sets a new high water mark for a non-beachfront home in this area.  Further, this represents the second highest sale in all of Olde Naples for 2014.
